A observa\u00e7\u00e3o foi realizada pelo Telesc\u00f3pio Espacial James Webb (JWST), da <a href=\"https:\/\/pt.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/NASA\">NASA<\/a>. Essas estruturas surgem quando a gal\u00e1xia atravessa um aglomerado e sofre forte compress\u00e3o, o que provoca a perda de parte de seu material gasoso.<\/p>\n<p>O fen\u00f4meno recebe o nome de \u201carrancamento por impacto\u201d. Ele acontece quando a gal\u00e1xia se desloca rapidamente por um meio denso \u2013 compar\u00e1vel a um vento c\u00f3smico \u2013 que remove seu g\u00e1s. Esse material deslocado forma longas trilhas atr\u00e1s da gal\u00e1xia, criando a apar\u00eancia que remete a uma \u00e1gua-viva flutuando no espa\u00e7o.<\/p>\n<h4>Forma incomum chamou aten\u00e7\u00e3o dos cientistas<\/h4>\n<p>A identifica\u00e7\u00e3o ocorreu a partir de dados coletados na regi\u00e3o conhecida como campo COSMOS, uma \u00e1rea do c\u00e9u amplamente investigada por pesquisadores. Situada longe do plano da Via L\u00e1ctea, essa regi\u00e3o sofre menor interfer\u00eancia de estrelas e poeira, o que a torna ideal para a observa\u00e7\u00e3o de objetos muito distantes.<\/p>\n<p>Segundo Ian Roberts, pesquisador do Centro de Astrof\u00edsica de Waterloo, no Canad\u00e1, a equipe examinava um vasto conjunto de informa\u00e7\u00f5es em busca de exemplares ainda n\u00e3o catalogados. Logo no in\u00edcio da an\u00e1lise, a gal\u00e1xia se destacou tanto pelo formato incomum quanto pela escassez de registros pr\u00e9vios.<\/p>\n<p>A imagem captada pelo JWST revela que o disco principal da gal\u00e1xia guarda semelhan\u00e7as com o de gal\u00e1xias atuais. Contudo, os filamentos gasosos chamam aten\u00e7\u00e3o por apresentarem pontos azulados intensos. Esses brilhos indicam a presen\u00e7a de estrelas jovens formadas fora do disco central, no material que foi arrancado.<\/p>\n<h4>Resultado surpreendeu pesquisadores<\/h4>\n<p>A constata\u00e7\u00e3o contrariou expectativas. At\u00e9 ent\u00e3o, acreditava-se que os aglomerados de gal\u00e1xias existentes h\u00e1 8,5 bilh\u00f5es de anos n\u00e3o produzissem press\u00e3o suficiente para desencadear esse tipo de processo com tanta frequ\u00eancia. A nova evid\u00eancia aponta que esses ambientes j\u00e1 eram mais agressivos do que se imaginava.<\/p>\n<p>Agora, os cientistas pretendem aprofundar o estudo da COSMOS2020-635829 com novas observa\u00e7\u00f5es feitas pelo JWST.
