Atualmente, esses centros consomem cerca de 2% da energia mundial, com crescimento anual de aproximadamente 12%, segundo Ricardo Pierozzi, diretor executivo e s\u00f3cio do BCG.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/fenati.org.br\/fda-demite-2-mil-funcionarios-ia-aprovar-remedios\/\">LEIA: FDA demite 2 mil funcion\u00e1rios e vai usar IA para aprovar rem\u00e9dios<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A expans\u00e3o de tecnologias como IA tem sido um motor central desse aumento. Pierozzi destaca que &#8220;60% da demanda de energia de data centers est\u00e1 associada diretamente ao desenvolvimento e processamento de modelos de intelig\u00eancia artificial&#8221;, especialmente os Large Language Models (LLMs).<\/p>\n<p>Gigantes como Amazon, Meta, Microsoft e Google ser\u00e3o respons\u00e1veis por 60% do aumento projetado no consumo at\u00e9 2028, elevando sua participa\u00e7\u00e3o na demanda global para cerca de 45%. Este crescimento acelerado enfrenta desafios significativos, incluindo limita\u00e7\u00f5es de hardware especializado at\u00e9 2028 e, posteriormente, escassez de energia e espa\u00e7o para instala\u00e7\u00f5es.<\/p>\n<h4>Data centers no Brasil<\/h4>\n<p>Enquanto os Estados Unidos abrigam mais de 60% dos data centers globais, o Brasil surge como destino estrat\u00e9gico para essa expans\u00e3o. O pa\u00eds atrai interesse por sua excelente conectividade, localiza\u00e7\u00e3o geogr\u00e1fica privilegiada e matriz energ\u00e9tica com quase 90% de fontes renov\u00e1veis, fatores que facilitariam a redu\u00e7\u00e3o da pegada de carbono.<\/p>\n<p>Contudo, especialistas alertam que essa movimenta\u00e7\u00e3o pode representar a transfer\u00eancia de custos ambientais &#8211; como o intenso consumo de energia e \u00e1gua para opera\u00e7\u00e3o e refrigera\u00e7\u00e3o &#8211; para o Brasil, enquanto os lucros das big techs se concentrariam externamente.<\/p>\n<p>O governo brasileiro, por sua vez, busca facilitar essa instala\u00e7\u00e3o. O ministro da Fazenda, Fernando Haddad, anunciou um plano para transformar o pa\u00eds em polo global de data centers, prometendo isen\u00e7\u00e3o fiscal, seguran\u00e7a jur\u00eddica e uso de energia limpa.
